Tennessee already had a top 15 recruiting class but the Volunteers 2021 class just got better as North Carolina native Jaylen Wright has announced his commitment to join Jeremy Pruitt’s program.

The Southern High School standout from Durham isn’t a big name on the recruiting trail at the moment but he’s not a complete unknown, either, as Miami, Arizona State, FAU and Hugh Freeze’s Liberty program have all extended scholarship offers to Wright so far during his recruitment.

The 5-foot-11, 187-pound running back is listed as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, however, he is not ranked by the 247Sports Composite Rankings at this time.

The Volunteers now hold eight commitments in the 2021 recruiting cycle following this news. Tennessee’s class currently ranks No. 15 nationally in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Wright joins three-star Elijah Howard as the only running backs committed in the class.

Wright announced his commitment on Monday with the following post:

Head coach Jeremy Pruitt confirmed the news of the commitment with a post of his own on Monday.
