Rocky Top stunner: Tennessee starting guard Lamonte Turner announces his college career is over

Lamonte Turner has played his last game for the Volunteers.
The senior guard announced the news himself on Saturday following Tennessee’s 75-53 win over Jacksonville State on Saturday. After the game, Turner addressed the media to disclose the news.
According to Turner, he has been diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, which will result in season-ending surgery.
Turner, the 2018 SEC Co-Sixth Man of the Year, has been an integral part of Rick Barnes’ Tennessee program, as he played every game his freshman season and has remained a constant in the starting lineup and off the bench since that time.
Following Tennessee’s loss of Jordan Bone to the NBA, Turner has been serving as the team’s point guard on the way to their 8-3 start to the season.
Turner is originally a native of Florence, Ala.
