Tennessee’s Rock has already had a busy week.

The Rock on Tennessee’s campus is traditionally painted by students for various reasons throughout the year, and the current topic featured on The Rock is the ongoing search for a new head football coach.

It was reported Sunday that a deal was being completed to bring in Ohio State DC Greg Schiano as the next head coach of the Vols, but that report was met with an overwhelmingly negative response. The Rock was then painted with a strong opinion on Schiano that referenced his time on the Penn State staff in the 1990s. The reported deal between Tennessee and Schiano eventually fell through and the search for a new head coach continues in Knoxville.

As a result of the Schiano reports, The Rock received another paint job on Monday morning. This time the message made a reference towards Jon Gruden, who had been rumored as a potential candidate for the job, and featured a #FireCurrie hashtag.

It did not end there as a busy week for The Rock continued Tuesday as an early morning photo featured another message. This time, the message was simple and straightforward and offered a simple plea for a new head coach:

The Tennessee fan base still remains split on Lane Kiffin after his departure to USC in 2010 following just one season in Knoxville. However, Kiffin has done a remarkable job at FAU in leading the Owls to a 9-3 record this season.

It’s been a busy week for the Vols and The Rock, and it will be interesting to see how the search for a head coach continues to develop.
