A couple years after an Al Jazeera documentary claimed that Peyton Manning and other prominent athletes were guilty of PED use, a new twist came to light.

On Friday, The Hollywood Reporter reported that it obtained unsealed court documents from the litigation that followed Al Jazeera’s original report in 2015.

In the documents, they found that Manning’s lawyer confirmed a claim made by Guyer Institute intern Charlie Sly that Manning used HGH that had been sent to his home, though they were reportedly addressed to Manning’s wife.

The Hollywood Reporter report highlighted one of Al Jazeera’s court filings:

“In their communications with [Al Jazeera’s outside law firm], the Mannings’ lawyers confirmed much of what Sly had said.”

Manning’s agent, Tom Condon, released this statement to the Hollywood Reporter in response to the report about what was “confirmed” by the unsealed court documents:

“Al Jazeera’s self-serving claim that Peyton Manning’s attorneys ‘confirmed’ Al Jazeera’s allegations about Peyton Manning is absolutely false. In fact, information was provided to Al Jazeera that confirmed the Al Jazeera allegations about Peyton Manning were unfounded. In addition, the sole source for Al Jazeera’s allegations has publicly recanted them. Moreover, the NFL conducted an extensive investigation of the claims raised in Al Jazeera’s programs and found no evidence to support them. This is a desperate move by Al Jazeera to distract the courts from its own wrongdoing.”

It appears the Tennessee legend is still involved in a battle of he said, she said.
