A Tennessee football fan tried to troll the New York Mets on Twitter, and the Mets wasted no time answering back with a troll job of their own.

Jacob deGrom started for the Mets in their game against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night, and they shared his terrific 2019 stats on Twitter ahead of the contest. But a Vols fan apparently thinks a different National League East pitcher, the Atlanta Braves’ Mike Soroka, is better, and he shared that opinion with the Mets.

New York quickly responded back with a jab at the Tennessee fan:

Of course, that’s the score of the Vols’ season-opening loss to Georgia State. They then went on to lose to BYU in double overtime the following week, before notching their first victory of the season over Chattanooga last weekend.

Tennessee could potentially avoid these types of troll jobs later in the season if it bounces back from its tough start with an upset win over No. 9 Florida on Saturday. The Vols and Gators are set to kick off at noon ET on ESPN.
