Tennessee has been a program on the rise since hiring Josh Heupel ahead of the 2021 season, and its growth showed with a big October milestone for a 2nd straight season.

In back-t0-back seasons, the Vols have reached the 6-win mark in the month of October. Tennessee secured its 6th win on Saturday night after it defeated Kentucky. The Vols were 8-0 through October last season.

The feat marks the first time the Vols have had 6 wins by the end of October for back-t0-back seasons since 1998-99 according to Tennessee’s postgame notes.

While Tennessee isn’t having the historic season it had a year ago, the Vols have emerged as a top team in the SEC East once again, and they are looking to secure a few more signature wins before the completion of the season.

Tennessee will kickoff its November slate next Saturday against UConn before 2 tough games against Missouri and Georgia in back-to-back weeks. While the Vols have already faced 2 losses, picking up another signature win could be huge for Tennessee’s momentum and confidence.
