Rocky Top has reached the pinnacle of the CMA Awards. Tennessee legend Peyton Manning is co-hosting the show, so you already could suspect he had a trick up his sleeve.

When fellow co-host Luke Bryan asked the iconic quarterback about his favorite country music song, Manning cued up the Volunteers’ anthem as a Rocky Top dancer strutted.

Bryan gave Manning his kudos for his passion of the genre. Manning couldn’t pass up the opportunity to mingle with some of the biggest names in the industry.

“People may not know this, but he’s a big champion for country music,” Bryan said via Sporting News. “Early on, he was always really supportive of Kenny Chesney when Kenny was skyrocketing to success.”

Manning is basking in what amounts to a bucket list item for a man who’s a star in his own right.

“I am such a huge fan of country music, so to have the chance to stand among so many incredibly talented artists is an absolute honor,” Manning said via Sporting News.

With Tennessee at No. 5 in the CFP, Manning could eventually hear the sweet sounds of Rocky Top all the way to the playoffs.
