College football analyst Phil Steele predicts that Tennessee will face Notre Dame in the Belk Bowl, according to his final bowl projections released on Sunday. The Vols will appear in their first bowl game since 2010.

Notre Dame, an independent football program, would represent the ACC due to its affiliation in other sports. Tennessee’s lost 41-21 in its last meeting with the Fighting Irish dating back to 2005. The Vols are 4-4 all-time against Notre Dame.

Tennessee has also been linked to two in-state bowl games. CBS projected the Vols to face Louisville in the Music City Bowl at LP Field, the site of its 2015 opening game. The Liberty Bowl’s associate executive director, Harold Graeter, told the Knoxville News Sentinel that the game’s representatives want Tennessee to play in the game.

The Vols will learn their bowl fate Sunday evening.
