Derek Dooley has reportedly been fired by the Dallas Cowboys.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport cited sources on Monday that apparently told him Dooley would not be retained as the Cowboys’ wide receivers coach.

Dooley, who infamously served as the head coach at Tennessee from 2010 through 2012, had been with the Cowboys since the 2013 season.

Dallas went 9-7 this season and missed the playoffs. Its offense was often criticized when star running back Ezekiel Elliott wasn’t on the field. Quarterback Dak Prescott and the Cowboys receivers didn’t do much without Zeke’s presence.

Dooley was at least in part to blame for that, apparently.

At Tennessee, Dooley went 15-21 and never defeated a ranked team.
