Tennessee has apparently taken a hit on the offensive line.

According to Volquest, Kennedy is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury. The Vols center sustained the injury during practice on Tuesday.

Kennedy came to Tennessee as a graduate transfer from Alabama. He made his Vols debut when he started at center in the season opener against West Virginia.

Volquest reported that Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt was expected to address Kennedy’s status after Wednesday’s practice.

With Kennedy apparently out, it is likely that Ryan Johnson will shift from guard back to center, where he made one start in 2017.

This isn’t the first time that Kennedy’s season has been ended by injury. In October 2017, he broke his leg during practice with Alabama and missed the rest of the year.

Kennedy has one year of eligibility remaining after this season.

UPDATE: Jeremy Pruitt confirmed this news on Wednesday.
