Tennessee is looking to do what no team has done so far in 2021: Beat Georgia.

The Vols are hosting the No. 1-ranked Bulldogs on Saturday at Neyland Stadium, and they’ll be aiming to pull off a huge upset. Georgia is not only 9-0, but it’s been dominant while picking up wins, as its average margin of victory is 31.9 points.

On Friday, SEC Network analyst Roman Harper previewed the matchup between Tennessee and Georgia during an appearance on “The Paul Finebaum Show,” which was airing live in Knoxville. And Finebaum posed a question to Harper — what is the Vols’ path to a potential upset win?

“Man, they’ve got to get some good things happening for them early,” Harper said on the show. “So if you can score on offense, you get the ball, you score first, you go down, you force Georgia to get a 3-and-out or punt the football. You get another field goal or another touchdown. If you’re up 10, 14 points, next thing you know, Georgia all of a sudden has a little bit of sweat.”

That may be a tough task for the Vols’ offense, though. The Bulldogs are averaging 231.8 total yards allowed per game, which ranks second in the country behind only Wisconsin. Georgia’s 6.56 points allowed per game rank first in the nation.

But if Tennessee can get an early lead, it would put Georgia in the unfamiliar position of being behind. And if the Vols are going to do that, they’ll likely need a strong showing from redshirt senior quarterback Hendon Hooker.

“I love what Hendon Hooker’s doing, I love the explosive ability and capability of what Tennessee’s doing offensively,” Harper said.

Tennessee and Georgia are set to kick off on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
