All-SEC edge rusher James Pearce was arrested during a traffic stop for disobeying police orders Monday.

According to a report from Knox News, Pearce had to be instructed several times to step out of his vehicle after being clocked going 63 MPH in a 35 MPH zone in Knoxville.

Once he did step out of the vehicle, Police told him his car was to be towed after it was discovered Pearce was driving on a suspended North Carolina license with expired temporary tags.

Pearce then disobeyed orders to stay by the patrol car as police searched the vehicle. He began walking towards the car and was arrested.

According to the below article, Pearce was charged with speeding, driving on suspended license and other infractions that include improper window tint.

Pearce was a star for the Vols this season, finishing with 8.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss, which rank 3rd and 5th in the SEC, respectively.
