Tennessee landed another big win on the recruiting trail Wednesday, adding a commitment from a 4-star offensive lineman.

The player is Max Anderson, a 4-star recruit out of Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas. Anderson generated offers from some of the top programs in the country, including Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Miami before committing to the Vols. His older brother, Nate Anderson, is a lineman for Oklahoma.

Anderson is listed at 6-foot-5 and 309 pounds as an interior offensive lineman in high school. However, the 247 Sports Composite rates Anderson as a 4-star offensive tackle, the 18th OT recruit in the country and the 201st overall player for the 2024 recruiting cycle.

With Anderson committed, Josh Heupel’s program is now on the cusp of a top-10 recruiting class for the cycle. The Vols currently have 14 commitments in a group that ranks 11th nationally per the 247 Sports Team Composite. Anderson is the highest-ranked OL in that group as things currently stand.
