Defensive end Jimari Butler announced his commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers via Twitter on Friday afternoon. 247Sports ranks Butler a 3-star defensive end and the 51st-best player from Alabama in the 2020 class.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and 218 pounds, Butler attends Murphy High School in Mobile, AL. He’s the 62nd-ranked weak-side defensive end in his class. Butler reportedly also received offers form Nebraska, Maryland, TCU and Illinois.

With the addition of Butler, Tennessee has 18 commitments in the 2020 class, half of which are 4-star players. There’s still more than a month to go until signing day, but Tennessee’s 2020 class is currently ranked 20th in the nation and eighth-best in the SEC according to the 247Sports team composite.
