Bowl games usually are an opportunity to showcase everything your team is about. And so we do sometimes see some funky jersey combinations — par for the course in today’s college football landscape.

Tennessee though will showcase itself in the same uniforms it has always worn. Know orange unitard look or smokey gray. Tennessee will take the field in its traditional orange uniforms for the Outback Bowl on Jan.1, the team announced:

Cannot complain with that look. And good to see Nike not messing with tradition.

Tennessee’s orange look has always been classic and solid. Nike has made some tweaks — the checkerboard piping on the pants and on the back of the helmet — but overall this is how Tennessee football should look.

And with an opportunity for a second straight January bowl game win and a signature win over the No. 12 team in the country in Northwestern, Tennessee has an opportunity to build a ton of momentum.

Noticeably though, the helmets are not included. Tennessee is likely going with the traditional white helmet to complete the look. They are probably not wearing the black helmets with the traditional orange look.

The jerseys they will face?

The Wildcats have actually worn a different jersey combination for every game this year. With the white uniforms, there is not much opportunity for variation except for the one of the many helmet designs the team uses.
