Tennessee offensive lineman Javontez Spraggis is coming back for another season on Rocky Top.

Spraggins took to social media to announce that he will be back with the Volunteers for the 2024 campaign. QB Nico Iamaleava is sure to welcome the veteran blocker’s return.

A four-year contributor, Spraggins was considered a senior in 2023 and has graduated from UT. The NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver for the 2020 season allows him to come back for 2024 as a super senior.

Spraggins was an 11-game starter at right guard for the Vols in 2023. He was injured in the second half of the Tennessee-Georgia game and was not available for the regular-season finale against Vanderbilt and the Citrus Bowl game against Iowa.

In 2022, Spraggins started all 13 games at right guard. He ranked third on the team with 891 offensive snaps, blocking for the Vols’ high-powered offensive, which ranked No. 1 in scoring and total offense. He was the SEC’s Offensive Lineman of the Week for the Sept. 24, 2022 win over Florida.

Spraggins first solidified his starting as a sophomore. In 2021, he made 12 starts at right guard, logging 861 total snaps.

As a freshman, Spraggins played in eight games of the 2020 campaign. He made his first start as a jumbo tight end.
