There are 18 “ors” on Tennessee’s first depth chart of the season ahead of the season opener against Georgia State.

Jeremy Pruitt also has 16 newcomers as he continues to make over the roster. Both offensive and defensive lines have “or” at every position, so 10 players on the offensive line, for example, are still vying for a starting job, at least publicly. Trey Smith, who has practiced sparingly, is listed at left guard, along with Riley Locklear.

There are at least 10 players competing for three starting jobs on the defensive line. The knee injury to Emmit Gooden didn’t create much separation, according to Pruitt. Though his status with the NCAA is still known, DL Aubrey Solomon is listed on the depth chart.

Following the recent arrest of Bryce Thompson, and his subsequent suspension, he is not listed, and is replaced by Warren Burrell or Shawn Shamburger at cornerback.

DeAndre Johnson and Kivon Bennett are listed as the starters opposite of Darrell Taylor, while the “ors” continue at the other linebacker spots where Daniel Bituli/Will Ignont and Henry To’oto’o/Shanon Reid are competing at inside linebacker.
