Tony Vitello, Tennessee baseball’s head coach, met with reporters Thursday afternoon to discuss the current state of the Vols program. While speaking to reporters he made a brief comment regarding Week 12’s matchup at Neyland Stadium between Tennessee and Georgia.
On Monday Dolly Parton announced that she will be at Week 12’s SEC East clash. Knowing this, Vitello made the following statement: “The Chiefs can have Taylor Swift all they want. We’ll take Dolly Parton.”

Swift, of course, is now dating Chiefs start TE Travis Kelce, something the NFL has marketed to its audience in detail across the past few weeks. And to Vitello’s point: Good luck charm, meet the ultimate good luck charm in Dolly Parton.
Parton’s influence on East Tennessee is otherworldly, which speaks to why she is universally liked by most people around the country, especially in Vol Nation. Parton will sing Rocky Top at the game, which is sure to pump up the crowd even more.
Let’s see if Tennessee can bring some chaos this weekend.
