Tennessee football target Elijah Rushing announced Tuesday that he has decided on a commitment date, while also listing a top 4 of Tennessee, Oregon, Arizona and Notre Dame. Rushing announced he will commit on July 6 at 5 p.m. live on 247Sports’ College Football Recruiting Show.

Rushing is a fantastic name for a primary pass rusher, but he has an even better skillset to back it up. The 5-star out of Tucson, Arizona stands at 6-5, 251 pounds and is described as an explosive rusher with impressive mobility by 247Sports.

Tennessee has made him a top priority for some time now, too. Rushing is fresh off an official visit to Knoxville on June 23. He first received an offer following a visit last June, too.

Rushing is a highly-rated prospect, as you can see. He’s considered to be the No. 8 overall prospect, as well as the No. 1 Edge and No. 1 player out of Arizona. Should he choose the Vols on July 6, he’d be considered Tennessee’s highest-rated prospect of the 2024 cycle to this point.

The Vols currently do not have an Edge commitment in the 2024 cycle, though Jonathan Echols was first graded as an Edge when he committed to Tennessee a year ago.
