UCF quarterback Dillon Gabriel hasn’t been shy about sharing his thoughts on Knights coach Josh Heupel leaving to take the Tennessee head coaching job.

According to Matt Howe of 247Sports, Gabriel reacted to learning of Heupel’s departure before hearing from the coach.

“No goodbye? Not even a phone call? Crazy,” Gabriel wrote in a now-deleted post on Instagram

When it comes to Twitter, however, Gabriel hasn’t deleted a post that appears to shade Heupel.

“This has been the best two days since I’ve been on campus! UCF is a special place. Tomorrow is gonna be a great day!” Gabriel tweeted Friday, two days after Heupel’s exit for Rocky Top.

In Heupel’s final season at UCF, Gabriel and the Knights went 6-4, a regression from the 10-3 campaign in 2019. We’ll see if UCF’s next coach is able to get the Knights back into the Top 25 and CFP conversation in Gabriel’s junior season in Orlando.
