Multiple SEC coaches are on the hot seat this season, but one coach is clearly in the lead for first coach to be fired this season.

What a difference a couple of weeks make in the world of SEC football. It looked certain that Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin would be fired quickly just a short time ago. The Aggies blew an unfathomable lead against UCLA in the opening game of the season before struggling with FCS Nicholls State in their second game.

Three wins later, including an overtime victory over rival Arkansas, and it appears things have stabilized for Sumlin, at least for the moment. Unfortunately for Butch Jones, Tennessee has hit a tough skid.

The comeback, overtime win over Georgia Tech seems like a lifetime ago for Vols fans. The Volunteers have since lost to Florida, struggled against UMass, and been shutout at home in a 41-0 loss to Georgia. The Tennessee offense looks lost and continues to disappoint. As a result, Jones is on the hottest seat in the SEC.

Jon Reed tweeted a graphic of the updated betting odds via BetOnline for first SEC coach to be fired, and Jones is undeniably in the lead:

Tennessee will face South Carolina at home next weekend, and a loss could be the final straw for Jones.
