Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara spent his spring break in Miami, but it was far from a break.

According to Patrick Brown of the Chattanooga Times Free Press, he didn’t even hit the beach. That’s because the redshirt junior spent that time working out with one of the top receivers in the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers two-time All-Pro Antonio Brown.

Kamara had connections as Butch Jones was Brown’s head coach at Central Michigan during his three seasons there, and Vols receivers coach Zach Azzanni was also an assistant for the Chippewas at that time.

“They hear the Antonio Brown stories all the time, and now he’s able to meet up with him,” Jones said. “They’re going to meet up again some time in May and work out. To me, that’s the exciting thing, is to see these players grow and elevate their game when they have time off.”

Kamara averaged 7 yards from scrimmage per play last season, tops among qualifying running backs. He flashed his versatility by rushing for 698 yards (6.5 yards per carry) and 7 TDs while catching 34 passes for 291 yards and 3 TDs.

One has to figure working with Brown will help Kamara’s already impressive abilities out of the backfield.
