While many Tennessee fans are taking a “wait and see” approach to Jeremy Pruitt’s tenure on Rocky Top, there’s no doubt the football program has already taken major strides in the weight room thanks to new Director of Strength and Conditioning Craig Fitzgerald.

For the first time in what seems like a decade, Tennessee didn’t suffer any significant injuries this spring. If that doesn’t prove Fitzgerald knows what he’s doing, not much else will.

The future of his weight training program in Knoxville looks to be getting brighter, too, as Tennessee is allowing him to tear up the existing weight room and be rebuilt to his exact specifications.

“We are going to do the best facility that’s ever been,” Fitzgerald says in the video below.

His comment on removing a mirror wall and installing a medicine ball wall was also pretty good.

“We don’t need our guys looking at themselves, we need them training,” he said.
