West Virginia received big news Thursday with the announcement that QB Will Grier will be returning to the Mountaineers for 2018.

The former QB for the Florida Gators put up big numbers in his first year at WV. He threw for 3,490 yards and 34 TDs on the season while leading the team to a 7-5 record and bowl appearance.

The announcement is also significant to Tennessee as the Mountaineers and Volunteers face off to begin the 2018 season. That game is a neutral field matchup set at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

New head coach Jeremy Pruitt will not have much time to settle in to his position. Slowing down Grier and the WV offense will be an interesting challenge for Pruitt in his first game as head coach of the Vols.
