Paul Finebaum was impressed with what he saw out of Arch Manning on Saturday night.

Manning stepped into Texas’ lineup after Quinn Ewers went down with what Steve Sarkisian termed as an abdominal injury. Manning ended up throwing 4 touchdown passes and also had a very impressive 67-yard scamper for another score.

During an appearance on SportsCenter on Sunday morning, Finebaum predicted that Arch would be the first member of the Manning family to win the Heisman Trophy.

“Book it. Arch Manning is going to win the Heisman,” Finebaum said. “I am in on that. By the way, his granddad and Peyton probably should have won it and Arch will. Can you imagine? He’s replacing a Heisman favorite right now. I don’t know if he’ll win it this year, but Arch Manning will definitely win the Heisman at Texas.”

As Finebaum mentioned, Ewers entered Week 2 as the betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. But midway through Texas’ game vs. UTSA, it was Manning who rose up the odds board all the way to +1500 at some books.

Ewers’ status moving forward is uncertain, but Texas likely doesn’t need to rush him back from this injury. The Longhorns face Louisiana Monroe and Mississippi State over the next 2 weeks. Then, following a bye, Texas will face Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl on Oct. 12.
