Texas football is stacking great news on the recruiting trail this week. The Longhorns earned a pledge from 5-star safety Jonah Williams on Saturday and on Monday received an expert prediction from On3’s Steve Wiltfong to land 5-star ATH Michael Terry III.

Terry is a Texas native, and his 5-star ranking means we don’t have to tell you he’s considered one of the best prospects in the country for the Class of 2025. Standing at 6-3, 217 lbs., Terry could see action anywhere from wide receiver to running back to off-ball linebacker at the college level.

Texas has been targeting Terry since January when the 5-star talent attended a Junior Day in Austin. The Longhorns offered Terry immediately, notably after some big names such as Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon and Nebraska.

Oregon, Texas A&M and Texas were thought to have separated in the race for Terry as we near closer to the Longhorns’ Week 1 matchup against Colorado State. Terry took an official visit to Austin on June 7 before taking visits to College Station and Eugene in the weeks after.

According to On3 Terry is the No. 1 ATH in the country, No. 8 prospect out of Texas and the No. 28 player nationally in the 2025 cycle. Obviously, nothing is official as of August 26, but should Terry commit to Steve Sarkisian and Texas that would give the Longhorns 3 5-star prospects – alongside Jonah Williams and receiver Kaliq Lockett.
