Report: Tennessee State player ‘unresponsive’ after suffering injury against Vanderbilt

A Tennessee State player was transported to an area hospital Saturday night after he suffered a head injury.
Linebacker Christion Abercrombie was taken off the field on a stretcher during the game against Vanderbilt after he collapsed on his way to the sideline.
Multiple reports suggested that Abercrombie was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center and was in surgery.
Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason said after the game, “Football’s what we do, not who we are.”
In the game, Abercrombie had five tackles and a quarterback hurry.
Vanderbilt won, 31-27.
