Alabama commitment Najee Harris moved up to No. 1 overall in the updated Rivals 100 rankings for the 2017 national recruiting class Monday. Harris, who already ranked as the nation’s top running back and the No. 2 overall prospect, has been committed to Alabama since April 2015.

Rivals recruiting director Mike Farrell called Harris the “best running back prospect” since LSU’s Leonard Fournette and compared him to former top-ranked high school running backs such as Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch, Bryce Brown and Jonathan Stewart. Harris is the first back to be ranked No. 1 since former Brown in 2009.

Harris rushed for 2,744 yards and 36 touchdowns on 243 carries and caught five passes for 129 yards and three touchdowns in 2015.

Alabama currently ranks No. 1 in Rivals’ Team Rankings for 2017.
