Ever since Alabama DB Eddie Jackson fractured his leg in late October against Texas A&M, he hasn’t been able to suit up for the Crimson Tide. It’s something that frustrates Jackson deeply, but he’s notably done all he could from the sidelines, earning the honorary title of coach from a teammate during the LSU game.

Ahead of the biggest game(s) of the season, Jackson penned a heartfelt letter to his teammates which he published for all to read via The Players’ Tribune. In the note, titled “To My Brothers,” Jackson looks back on his career, the role of being a team captain, the bonds he’s formed with his teammates and his favorite memories. He also shares his excitement for Saturday’s Peach Bowl, where he’ll be watching from the Georgia Dome sidelines, and reminding his teammates that they’re ready for the challenge:

That’s what I look forward to watching this Saturday, a bunch of great players showcasing themselves at their very best.

I know exactly what you guys have gone through to get to this point. You aren’t going to win by some miracle. You guys will win because you deserve it. The teams who try to get by on talent aren’t playing for anything. You guys have just as much talent as anybody, but you’ve combined it with the work. You’ve put your trust in the best coaching staff in the nation, and in turn they’ve molded you into men.

If you can survive early morning summer workouts, you can tackle any running back.

If you can survive the fourth quarter program in the spring, you can open a hole through any defensive line.

Jackson’s full letter is a must-read for any Alabama fan. It will remind all Crimson Tide supporters why they can be proud of cheering for No. 4.
