National Signing Day is on Feb. 4 and the SEC is primed to bring in another impressive haul of top recruits in the 2015 recruiting class.

In the next 25 days, Saturday Down South counts down the top 25 recruits either committed to the SEC or strongly considering SEC schools.

No. 21 Damarkus Lodge

Position: Wide Receiver
247Sports ranking: No. 37 overall; No. 9 overall in Texas
Committed: Uncommitted

The skinny: The former Texas A&M commit is an electrifying pass-catcher, and he has the attention of every major school across the country. Ole Miss, Texas A&M and LSU are the three SEC schools that have the best shot at getting Lodge’s signature. The 6-2, 190-pound playmaker is a rare prospect who excels in the open field. Get him the football in space, and he knows what to do with it. Lodge also has very good hands, and anything thrown in his radius is caught.

Freshman projection: Time and time again, we see freshmen wide receivers make instant splashes. Really, skill position players — receiver and running back — are the easiest to transition from high school to college. Lodge has all the ability to start being an asset early in the season. Now, there’s a learning curve with any offense, but that’s why coaches get paid a lot of money to simplify things for younger players to make impacts. Damarkus Lodge is one to watch in 2015.
