Former Mississippi State DL Fletcher Cox named NFC Defensive Player of the Month
The Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the biggest surprises of the NFL season. Through three weeks, the Eagles are 3-0, thanks in large part to a stout defense.
The defense is led by former Mississippi State DL Fletcher Cox, who already has nine tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble.
Because of that fast start, Cox was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month on Thursday:

This play, one of Cox’s many highlights, almost certainly played a part in the NFL’s decision:

Cox’s Eagles have a bye this weekend, but will attempt to go 4-0 next Sunday, Oct. 9, against the Detroit Lions.
