Which teams have the best home uniforms in the SEC?

Going over every team’s 2015 uniform options, here’s a glance at the updates we’ve published over the last month in prep for the new season.

2015 SEC UNIFORM UPDATE

RANKING THE SEC’s 2015 HOME UNIFORMS

14. TEXAS A&M (Maroon on white)

I’ve never been a fan of maroon and white as a pair (and Adidas’ team-specific shadowed numerals are strange). Black and white are the perfect contrasts for example, but maroon’s trying too hard as a darker mix of purple and red.

13. MISSISSIPPI STATE (Maroon on white)

See reasoning for Texas A&M in the No. 14 slot. And Mississippi State’s primary wordmark across the chest is too busy.

12. SOUTH CAROLINA (Garnet on garnet)

Unofficially known as the ‘Fireants’ combination in Columbia, the Gamecocks’ monochrome all-garnet used to be reserved for big games until Texas A&M obliterated the nation’s longest home winning streak last season.

11. VANDERBILT (Black on black)

Give the Commodores credit. All-black with gold helmets is a clean look. And it would be a lot meaner if Vanderbilt could climb out of the East cellar.

10. TENNESSEE (Orange on white)

Rocky Top’s sherbet shade of orange is unique to the Vols. The checkerboard addition to this season’s pants courtesy of Nike is a nice touch.

9. ARKANSAS (Cardinal on white)

The Razorbacks’ simplistic style does more with less. Nike’s contrasting ‘slash’ vents at the shoulder and thigh completes the look.

8. OLE MISS (Navy on grey)

You can’t go wrong with a scarlet, navy and grey scheme and the Rebels appear to have mastered their traditional uniform sets. The alternate scarlet jersey is a great option.

7. KENTUCKY (Blue on grey)

It’s difficult to label any combination a ‘primary’ considering the Wildcats’ black and grey flexibility with several different alternate looks. Kentucky wore grey pants several times last fall, so we’ll go with those.

6. MIZZOU (Black on gold)

Another SEC squad with several different alternate home combinations, the Tigers’ go-to choice is black on gold (mustard), seen here in last year’s league title game.

5. AUBURN (Navy on white)

Minor changes this season to Auburn’s iconic pairing is chrome-centric helmet decals and uninterrupted pants stripes.

4. FLORIDA (Blue on white)

One of the brightest gameday looks, the Gators’ blue jersey with white and orange accents contrast well with white pants and orange stripes.

3. ALABAMA (Crimson on white)

Tradition. Enough said.

2. GEORGIA (Red on silver)

The ‘silver britches’ are more grey than silver, but Nike is rumored to be working on that for the future.

1. LSU (White on gold)

The Tigers wear their white jerseys at home against SEC opponents and purple against non-league competition as well as each season’s home opener. The contrasting shoulder stripes perfects this look.
