We are 24 hours from college football’s National Signing Day for the 2016 recruiting cycle and fans are buzzing about many of the high-profile recruits who are set to make decisions and sign letters-of-intent.

That being said, there are several prospects heading to Southeastern Conference programs who have received minimal hype, but who are definitely worth keeping an eye on in the coming years for various reasons — including skill set, high upside athleticism and production on the high school level.

Here are five to watch on offense.

McArthur Burnett, APB, Pahokee (Fla.)

Committed to Florida

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Burnett is a shifty all-purpose back who could project as a slot receiver. When you watch him on film, he’s the type of game breaker the Gators need more of and he comes from a high school that is no stranger to producing top skill talent.

Chavis Dawkins, WR, Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes

Committed to South Carolina

The Gamecocks offered the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Dawkins 24 hours before he was going to commit to North Carolina State. Dawkins had an outstanding year for one of the state’s top high school programs (the same that produced South Carolina great Marcus Lattimore) and is more skilled than people think.

Lindsey Scott Jr., QB, Zachery (La.)

Committed to LSU

The Tigers went with Scott late as their quarterback in this class and the 5-foot-11, 200-pounder is definitely worth keeping an eye on. He put up more than 3,000 passing yards and nearly 2,000 rushing yards as a high school senior and his production level, along with the fact he’s a winner on the high school level screams keep an eye on this one.

Tyler Simmons, WR, Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern

Committed to Alabama

Simmons, whom Georgia is still pursuing in spite of his pledge to the Tide, reminds on film of current Clemson receiver Artavis Scott, though he probably doesn’t have the top-end speed that Scott does. Simmons is a versatile component within an offense. He can make plays in the passing game and carrying the ball from scrimmage.

Marcus Tatum, OT, Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland

Committed to Tennessee

Tatum is 6-foot-6, 255 pounds and has excellent feet. If the Vols can add bulk to his frame, teach him to play the position at a high level and he takes to the teaching, Tatum could end up being an All-SEC type.
