Now that the regular season is over, we can finally evaluate how every team performed relative to preseason expectations.
That was a brief segment during Monday’s edition of The Paul Finebaum Show. ESPN’s Football Power Index revealed the top four overachievers and underachivers from the SEC.

As hard as it seems to label Alabama an overachiever, the Crimson Tide actually performed better than any other SEC team compared with FPI’s preseason projections. Kentucky, Florida and Auburn joined Alabama as the conference’s overachievers.
Ole Miss led the group of underachievers, sporting the largest deviation from its preseason expectation. Tennessee, LSU and Mississippi State also turned out disappointing seasons, according to FPI’s numbers.
