The Aggies are coming off an ugly 59-0 loss against Alabama last week. Since they get the week off to regroup, it gives a chance to take one last look at what’s transpired over the last month and in Tuscaloosa.

  • 35. Not since the nascent days of Johnny Manziel had Texas A&M been unranked. Before dropping out of the polls this week, it had been 35 weeks since the Aggies were voted lower than No. 25.
  • 86. Kevin Sumlin had coached 85 NCAA games before last Saturday. In none of those 85 was his team blanked on the scoreboard. In game No. 86, Sumlin’s Aggies put up zeroes across the board for the first time in his career.
  • 127. A&M managed just 172 yards of total offense against Alabama. That’s by far the lowest total they’ve amassed in Sumlin’s three years in College Station, 127 yards less than their previous low of 299. It’s only the fourth time a Sumlin-led Aggies team has totaled less than 400 total yards.
  • 12.8. Since the calendar flipped to October, the Aggies have taken a sharp dive in both the standings and the stat sheet. After averaging 51.2 points per game in their 5-0 start, A&M’s scoring average has dropped by 12.8 points, down to 38.4. If the season ended today, that would be the lowest average of Sumlin’s Texas A&M tenure by nearly a touchdown.
