All-SEC linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin will be out for the rest of spring practice with a shoulder injury.

According to VolQuest.com, the senior may also be out longer than that as he undergoes rehab. Reeves-Maybin tweeted this out earlier this afternoon.

After tying for the team lead with 101 tackles in 2014, Reeves-Maybin led the Vols in that department by a wide margin last season with 105, which was 35 more than any other player. He also led the unit with 14 tackles for loss.

His best performance came in Week 3 against Oklahoma, when he posted a career-high 21 tackles, 3 of which were for a loss.

The silver lining to the setback to Reeves-Maybin is the fact that it will open the door for sophomore Quarte’ Sapp, redshirt sophomore Dillon Bates and junior Cortez McDowell to get some repetitions in practice.
