It looks like Butch Jones may be in the market for a new assistant coach.

That’s because Mark Elder, who has served as the Vols tight ends and special teams coach, is reportedly going to be named the head coach at Eastern Kentucky, according to WTVQ in Lexington.

The report says that Elder will meet with his new team on Tuesday and may be formally announced as the coach on Thursday.

Elder has been on staff with Jones for quite some time, following him from Central Michigan to Cincinnati, and ultimately to his post at Tennessee.

SEC fans’ most recent memory of Eastern Kentucky is likely when the football program took Kentucky into overtime in early October, falling just short of an upset bid.
