Mississippi State continues to reel in talent to its 2017 recruiting class, with the latest commitment coming from talented Florida defensive end Deandre Johnson.

Johnson added his name to the growing list of prospects eager to play for the Bulldogs by announcing his decision via Twitter late Sunday evening:

The 6-foot-3, 239-pound Johnson hails from Miami and is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 37 weakside defensive end in the nation and Florida’s No. 108 overall recruit – according to 247Sports. Johnson currently holds 14 scholarship offers and committed to Hail State over Auburn, South Carolina, Tennessee, Cal, Indiana and Memphis, among others.

Upon hearing the news, Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen sent out this celebratory tweet:

Mississippi State now had 22 verbal commits lined up for the 2017 recruiting class, which prior to Johnson’s commitment, ranked as the nation’s No. 14 recruiting class by 247Sports. The Bulldogs 22 prospect class is second in size in the SEC, as only Tennessee currently has more pledges (23).
