With bowl season upon us, the debate over whether or not players should play in their team’s bowl game rather than avoid potential injury and prepare for the NFL is in full swing.

That debate gained plenty of steam when star running backs Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey announced they would not be playing in their bowl games. There is no right or wrong answer on this debate, and several notable voices are on either side of the aisle.

Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio was one of the many players to make his opinion known on Monday, and he supported the players’ decisions.

This may become one of the more discussed secondary conversations in college football, alongside whether or not student athletes should receive monetary compensation for their role at the school.
