Four-star CB Jamyest Williams from Lawrenceville, Ga. has been pledged to South Carolina since Aug. 27, but the home-state Bulldogs are working hard to get him to flip his commitment.

Williams has recently been retweeting recruiting sites’ reports of his plans for an official visit to Athens. He told The Macon Telegraph’s Brandon Sudge that he hasn’t set a date yet to visit UGA campus, but knows he will visit South Carolina the final weekend before National Signing Day (Jan. 27-29), a huge plus for the Gamecocks, assuming the visit is not canceled. He will not be taking any other visits besides Georgia and South Carolina.

It’s noteworthy that Williams is teammates with recent UGA pledge Deangelo Gibbs, who announced his commitment to Georgia at the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando on Jan. 1.

With a 0.9700 score on the 247Sports Composite, Williams is the highest-rated recruit in South Carolina’s current 2017 class. The service also ranks him the No. 54 overall recruit, No. 6 cornerback and No. 6 Peach State prospect.

With one look of Williams’ highlights, it’s easy to see why the Bulldogs are determined to flip him:
