After Mississippi State defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon was replaced by Todd Grantham this offseason, he ended up taking the opening at Louisville created by Grantham’s move.

Now, Sirmon is trying to take some of his recruits north with him.

On Monday, three-star OLB Kaleb Oliver, who had been committed to Mississippi State since June, told 247Sports he was exploring other options:

“I Am Officially De-committing From Mississippi State,” Oliver told 247Sports via text. “I Will Be Visiting Louisville This Weekend & Ole Miss Next Weekend.”

Whether Oliver follows Sirmon to Louisville or heads to Oxford remains to be seen, but it doesn’t sound like Mississippi State is still in the mix.

According to 247Sports, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound linebacker is the No. 34 outside linebacker in the class of 2017 and the No. 15 overall recruit from the state of Tennessee.
