Tragic news to report out of Georgia as 33-year-old former Bulldog Quentin Moses has reportedly passed away in a Monroe, Ga., house fire that began early Sunday morning.
This news comes via Ellen Eldridge of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. According to the report, an unconscious Moses was pulled from the house and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
31-year-old Andria Godard and her 10-year-old daughter Jasmine Godard also perished in the fire.
Moses played in Athens from 2003-2006 and racked up numerous accolades and statistics. During his four-year career, Moses piled up 25 sacks, 45 tackles-for-loss, and 133 combined tackles. He was named a Third Team AP All-American during his senior season, First-team All-SEC for the 2005 season and was twice honored on the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
The Oakland Raiders selected Moses with the first pick of the third round in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played four seasons in the NFL for three different franchises before finishing his playing career in the UFL.
