When it was announced that former Clemson defensive lineman Scott Pagano planned to transfer from the Tigers and take advantage of the graduate transfer rule, making him eligible immediately, it was reported that over 30 schools inquired regarding his services.

Pagano has worked quickly to whittle that list down to seven, with the Razorbacks being the only school from the SEC to make the list. Apparently Pagano’s interest in joining Arkansas is very legitimate, as Ryan Bartow of 247Sports is reporting that the former Clemson lineman has been in constant communication with Razorback head coach Bret Bielema and plans to visit Fayetteville from April 7-9.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Pagano would seem like the perfect three technique in a 3-4 defense, and given the fact Arkansas is shifting to the defensive scheme for the first time under Bielema, Pagano will have just as much experience in the defense as any Razorback defensive lineman already on the roster.

Whether or not Pagano would immediately be a starter or not for Arkansas, considering the team gave up a historically bad 39 rushing touchdowns last season, every additional talented lineman the program could land would be a welcome addition to next season’s roster.

Pagano racked up 93 tackles, including eight for loss, 2.5 sacks, seven quarterback pressures, and a pass breakup in his career at Clemson.
