One of the biggest absences from Auburn’s spring practices has been WR Kyle Davis, who is not with the team as he deals with a personal issue.

It’s not certain whether Davis will practice with the Tigers this spring, missing out on valuable reps in the process.

According to AL.com, though, Auburn wide receivers coach Kodi Burns isn’t too worried about the talented sophomore’s absence:

“Whenever you have personal deals, you worry about that and then you come back whenever that time may be and we’ll make sure we get you right,” Burns told reporters at the Auburn Athletics Complex Tuesday. “I’m not too much concerned about it.”

Still, Burns added, he hopes everything is OK with Davis and that he’ll be back when the Tigers start their summer and fall preparations:

“We’re rooting for Kyle,” Burns said. “It’s personal matters and all those things. We’ll just see when it happens.

“I think he can pick up in the fall. He’s a guy that, you know, played some last year. So he understands the offense and kind of what we do. I know we tweaked a few things, but I think he’ll be fine.”

As a freshman in 2016, Davis recorded 12 catches for 248 yards and two touchdowns. With Baylor transfer QB Jarrett Stidham the favorite to land the starting quarterback job this fall, Davis is expected to have a bigger impact in 2017 if he returns by then.
