Based on last season’s results, the players in the locker room at LSU clearly love their new head coach Ed Orgeron. After beating Texas A&M 54-39 on the road in the regular season finale, the players could not hide their affection for their interim coach. Now entering his first stint as the team’s full-time head coach, Orgeron faces the challenge of motivating the entire team this offseason.

Judging by these player impersonations captured by the SEC Network, the team still has much love for their coach but at the same time are willing to slightly poke fun at his notorious cajun accent. Players featured in this video include safety John Battle, defensive lineman Greg Gilmore, offensive lineman Will Clapp, quarterback Danny Etling, linebacker Devin White.

In a recent segment on SEC Network, Coach O said he understands it’s all in good fun, commenting on the team’s “family” atmosphere of playful teasing within the program. The LSU coach also shares his thoughts on his two outstanding coordinators and what impressed him so much about Matt Canada during his search for an offensive coordinator last offseason.

“The thing I liked about him was his gameplan against Clemson,” Orgeron said. “I think the guy can win in big games, he’s a team guy, he’s a great recruiter.”

Does LSU have the best coordinator combination in the nation? It’s hard to argue against that notion.
