The New York Jets told Jamal Adams that if he was available at No. 6, he should be prepared to come to the Big Apple. They kept their word.

LSU’s official Twitter account of Adams at the NFL Draft in Philadelphia getting the call from the Jets. A voice can be heard telling his father, George Adams, that they’re going to New York. The older Adams played for the New York Giants.

“They told me that they wouldn’t skip out on me if I was still on the board at six, and they kept their word,” Adams told ESPN. “And I promise you to the Jets fans, I’m going to keep mine, too. When I say I’m going to come in there and work my butt off, I’m going to do everything for this organization. I’m going to give it my all. I’m very passionate about this game, and I’m excited to be a Jet.”
