Will Muschamp picked up a big commitment from Ware County (Ga.) LB Ernest Jones on Friday night.

Jones had narrowed his finalists to South Carolina, Florida and Duke before pledging to the Gamecocks.

“It just felt like home and I loved the way the staff was talking to me,” Jones told Phil Kornblut of The State. “To see South Carolina struggling lately, it just felt I just needed to be there to change things around. I see that they produce a lot of NFL talent and they will develop you as a player. They will get you ready for the next level. Not only that, they will teach you to become a man.”

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker from Waycross, Ga. also had SEC offers from Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Jones is rated the No. 49 outside linebacker in the class – though he’s expected to play middle linebacker at USC – and No. 67 Georgia recruit on the 247Sports Composite.
