Florida’s athletic department will be spending more money on Gators football in the 2017-2018 academic year, according to a Monday afternoon.

The University Athletic Association, which runs UF’s athletic department, approved a $128.2 million budget for the athletic department, a 4.6 increase from the previous year. The football program will receive $82.6 million, a 4.4 percent increase. While not part of the UAA budget, it was also noted that the football program will be receiving $6 million for playing Michigan on Sept. 2 in the 2017 AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas

The new money will go toward LED ribbon boards in the end zone as well as additional stadium scoreboards and drink rails in the end zone.

Arguably the marquee addition isn’t to the football program. The new budget includes a $350,000 3D projection system purchased for use at the Exactech Arena, for select baseball games as well as volleyball and gymnastics events. It was previously used prior to UF’s home basketball game against Kentucky last season.

More details on the UAA budget can be found on Florida’s official site.
