Alabama QB Jalen Hurts recently finished up his time at the Manning Passing Academy, the annual camp for high schoolers hosted by Archie Manning and the Manning family. Many of the top college quarterbacks serve as counselors while also getting to work with the Mannings on their games.

During the event, Hurts, who will be a sophomore this fall, drew the eye of Archie Manning, who sees a lot of potential in the Crimson Tide quarterback.

Manning told AL.com that Hurts impressed him not only as a football player, but as a counselor and person as well:

“Jalen’s a good-looking quarterback, and he threw the ball well,” Manning said. “We really enjoyed having Jalen. He’s really a fine young man and a good guy, a really good guy. He worked great with our campers and mixed in so well with our staff. He was one of the favorites. And in all of the throwing sessions, he performed very well.”

Hurts won the SEC Offensive Player of the Year award as a true freshman last year, but people still thought he could use some work as a passer.

If he can improve that area of his game this fall, he may just be able to defend his award in 2017.
