After initially balking at the idea of signing James Robison following his much-publicised recruiting trip to Ohio State, Florida’s decision to ultimately sign the talented receiver came as a surprise on National Signing Day.

While the eleventh-hour decision shocked many, Robinson’s twisting journey to Gainesville doesn’t appear to be over just quite yet.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Robinson, rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 14 wide receiver in the nation in the 2017 recruiting class by 247Sports Composite Ratings, is the only member of the Gators’ latest signing class to fail to show up for the start of summer school. He was the second-highest-rated overall prospect in the class behind only offensive lineman Tedarrell Slaton.

According to Blake Alderman of GatorBait.net/247Sports, Robinson has yet to be cleared to enroll at the school.

It’s worth noting that Robinson does have an official bio on the school’s website and he’s been given the No. 85 jersey, suggesting the Gators expect the talented receiver prospect to eventually make it to campus before the fall.

One thing is for sure, before even making it to campus, Robinson has been doing a good job of staying in the headlines early in his Gator career.
